The Government of India has announced updates to its automotive and fuel policy framework aimed at accelerating the adoption of cleaner transportation technologies.
The revised policy includes continued support for electric vehicles, the expansion of ethanol-blended fuels, and stricter emission standards for future vehicles. The government said these measures are intended to reduce pollution levels, lower oil imports, and promote domestic manufacturing of clean-energy vehicles.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Heavy Industries stated that incentives and regulatory support will continue to encourage automakers to invest in electric and hybrid vehicle development.
These changes are expected to influence product planning across the automotive industry, including manufacturers such as Honda, as India moves toward a more sustainable mobility ecosystem.
